About We Hear You (WHY)
We Hear You (WHY) is a staunch advocate of providing equal opportunities to those people who are unable to receive assistance from existing programs. Our team is striving to be an instrument of light to the underprivileged and improve their quality of life by providing access, opportunities, and hope for the marginalized and disadvantaged sectors of the Cebuano Community.
We Hear You (WHY) is committed to assisting the poorest of the poor in Cebu, Philippines, in this context. Since 2022, our team has helped numerous families and given away bags of food. We hope that as we spread our mission, we will raise more funds to build and mobilize solid programs and help the Cebuano community’s disadvantaged sector not just survive but thrive.
How We Started
We Hear You (WHY) was founded by filmmakers Mr. Shawn O’ Hearn and Mr. Matt Rayner. After visiting Cebu in October of 2022 and being exposed to the living conditions of the marginalized and disadvantaged sector of the Cebuano Community, Mr. O’Hearn and Mr. Rayner decided they wanted to take on the monumental task of helping the poor, one person at a time.
Their passion, gift, and extensive background in filmmaking and cinematography have led them to the action step of using these skills as a means to help the poor. They were swift to start a YouTube channel to shed light on the nuances of the living conditions of the economically disenfranchised and spread it through the power of social media. They want to use these creative platforms as an impetus to move the hearts and minds of the local community and become beacons of light and hope to the poor and marginalized Cebuano people.
Currently, they are set to grow their YouTube channel to generate a substantial amount of money so that they can continue to help more people in Cebu. With success, they will expand across the Philippines and beyond.
Our Vision
Through solid programs, education, and training, we want to provide the marginalized sector of the Cebuano community an opportunity to live better lives, hopefully across the Philippines.
